Garden State

FYI: I'm one of those people who will say that this movie changed their life. Well, it changed my perspective, at least. Lately, I've kinda wanted to run through the rain and maybe scream loudly from the top of something. Sounds good to me.

I'm having "one of those nights". Been feeling a little lost. I know where I'm headed (in a VERY general sense), but I'm in a holding pattern at the moment. I thought I was focusing on myself the last few months...but I've really just been focusing on my studies. Focusing on my career goals. By focusing on those things, I've actually lost touch of what makes me happy and what I need to be content. Trying to figure that out again. I think we are always changing and evolving...but the person I was a year ago wouldn't recognize the person I am today. That's a good thing.

But as this whole "thing" I'm doing (you know...law school apps, tests, etc.) forges ahead, I have to remember to enjoy myself and the simple things that make me happy.

I had a conversation with a friend last night and we discussed what a great movie Garden State is. The best part? The incredible soundtrack. It will never get old. This soundtrack absolutely nails down my taste in music. So, tonight, I will enjoy it again. I will also count my blessings. I have great things in the queue  and great friends and family. I'm just a tad lonely. It happens.

But seriously, listen to this soundtrack. It's heaven

1. "Don't Panic" - Coldplay
2. "Caring is Creepy" - The Shins
3. "In the Waiting Line" - Zero 7
4. "New Slang" - The Shins
5. "I Just Don't Think I'll Get Over You" - Colin Hay
6. "Blue Eyes" - Cary Brothers
7. "Fair" - Remy Zero
8. "One of These Things First" - Nick Drake

10. "The Only Living Boy In New York" - Simon & Garfunkel
11. "Such Great Heights" - Iron and Wine
12. "Let Go" - Frou Frou

I'm excited for a great weekend. Set my alarm for 7a. I pledge to start my weekend off right. I'm seeking balance in my life...2 parts productivity, 2 parts fun. Carpe diem.
